According to Colossians 2:2, the mystery of God is Christ, and Ephesians 3:4 tells us that the mystery of Christ is the church. Both Christ and the church are mysterious, and together they are the great mystery (Eph. 5:32). To understand this, we need to see who Christ is and what the church is, but we should not rely on traditional teachings. Instead, we should come to the pure Word of God. The Bible shows us many aspects of our wonderful Christ. He is the Word (John 1:1), the mighty God (Isa. 9:6), the Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45), and a man (1 Tim. 2:5), to name only a few. The Bible also gives us a clear revelation of the church—the Body of Christ, the new man, the building of God, God’s kingdom for His dominion, God’s family for His fatherhood, and a bride to match Christ.
